Gillian Anderson talks about dating women

The former ‘X-Files’ star opens up about her past relationships with women

Gillian Anderson of The X-Files opened up about her past relationships recently and shared that she has dated women.

Gillian Anderson played Agent Scully on the popular sci-fi drama and will star in an upcoming adaptation of Great Expectations as Miss Havisham. In an interview, she revealed that she was offered the role of Lady Cora in Downton Abbey.

That wasn’t all she revealed, though. Gillian Anderson told OUT magazine that she has had several affairs with women in the past.

“I was in a relationship with a girl for a long time when I was in high school,” Gillian Anderson said.

Gillian Anderson, who was voted the sexiest woman in the world in 1996, told interviewer Aaron Hicklin that she has had several relationships with women, but “they have been the exception, not the rule.”

“If I had thought I was 100 percent gay, would it have been a different experience for me? Would it have been a bigger deal if shame had been attached to it and all those things that become huge life-altering issues for youngsters in that situation? It’s possible that my attitude around it came, on some level, from knowing that I still liked boys,” Gillian Anderson said.

Gillian Anderson has been married twice and has three children. She has been dating Mark Griffith since 2006.

Karina Smirnoff and Owen Wilson dating?

Conflicting reports say yes, and no.

Karina Smirnoff may be getting back into the dating game with Owen Wilson.

Karina Smirnoff, from Dancing with the Stars, called off her engagement to Tigers pitcher Brad Penny a few months ago, and now, she and Owen Wilson have been spotted out on several dates recently.

After Life & Style Magazine reported that the two had been “out a few times” and are “totally into each other,” sources close to Karina Smirnoff and Owen Wilson are saying differently.

One person told E! News, “There is nothing there. They ran into each other once randomly. They are friends but not dating at all.”

A friend of Owen Wilson’s claims the two are even more removed.
“This is false. She was introduced to Owen at a party. I don’t think that qualifies as dating.”

If Karina Smirnoff and Owen Wilson are sparking up a romance, they are keeping it under wraps for now.

Before her split from her ex-fiance, Karina Smirnoff was engaged to her fellow Dancing with the Stars cast member Maksim Chmerkovskiy.

Karina Smirnoff is getting ready to start another season of Dancing with the Stars, in which she will be paired up with Gavin DeGraw.

Will we see Owen Wilson in the audience this season cheering on his new friend Karina? Keep your eyes peeled for a Wilson sighting.

Corned beef and cabbage on St. Patrick's Day

Get lucky with this Irish-American tradition

Corned beef and cabbage is an Irish-American tradition that will find its way to dinner tables on St. Patty’s Day this weekend.

Corned beef and cabbage isn’t really a popular dish in Ireland, but the Irish immigrants made it popular in the United States. The Irish immigrants in America discovered that corned beef was similar to the salted pork they loved at home in Ireland.

But the dish is corned beef and cabbage. So where does the cabbage come in?

Cabbage pre-dated the potato in Ireland. Irish farms could produce up to 65 pounds of cabbage per person each year. Cabbage became popular again during the potato blight that caused the Great Famine in Ireland, which ultimately drove the Irish to America.

Corned beef and cabbage has become a traditional “lucky” dish to eat on New Year’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and in some Irish-American communities Election Day. The cabbage is meant to symbolize money and prosperity in the new year, and while the corned beef isn’t very symbolic, the dish in general has become a preferred meal on days when good luck is wished to all.

If you need a little luck this weekend, be sure to have corned beef and cabbage with some potatoes, carrots, and onions on St. Patty’s Day.

Leah Remini says Sharon Osbourne got her fired

The Twitterverse is heating up with the latest celebrity cat fight

Leah Remini and Sharon Osbourne are the latest celebrity feud in the Twitterverse.

Leah Remini and Holly Robinson Pete were let go from The Talk seven months ago, but now, she is pointing at Sharon Osbourne for getting her fired.

Now it’s Mrs. King of Queens vs. Mrs. Prince of Darkness.

In December, Sharon Osbourne and the current co-hosts went on Howard Stern’s satellite radio show. Stern suggested that Julie Chen, the shows moderator and wife of CBS President and Chief Executive Les Moonves, was the source of the firings.

“Some people don’t really know who they are. You have to know who you are when you’re in something like this. You can’t pretend to be something you’re not,” Sharon Osbourne told Howard Stern.

Leah Remini claimed she didn’t know the reasons for her ousting from the show until she heard Sharon Osbourne’s comments on Howard Stern.

On Monday Leah Remini, who is currently filming a pilot for ABC, tweeted about her suspicions that Sharon Osbourne had her fired.

“Sharon thought me and Holly were ‘ghetto’. We were not funny, awkward and didn’t know ourselves. She has the power that was given to her.”

Sharon Osbourne quickly fired back.

“In response to Leah Remini’s continuous comments that I had her fired from The Talk, let me just go on the record to say I had absolutely nothing to do with her departure from the show and have no idea why she continues to take to Twitter to spread this false gossip,” Sharon Osbourne tweeted Tuesday.

“Leah knows that I have never been in the position to hire or fire anyone on the show,” Osbourne later tweeted, “That being said, my only wish is that Leah would just stop all this negative, unprofessional and childish behavior. It’s been seven months… it’s time to move on. Leah is a very talented actress and I only wish her happiness and success.”

Leah Remini didn’t let the feud stop there. She tweeted back Wednesday that Sharon Osbourne “just wants publicity out of this” and that, “If someone wants to stop me, they should call a lawyer and tell them what I am NOT telling the truth about. We can go from there,” Leah Remini tweeted.

Leah Remini appears to want the last word in this argument- but has she ever met Sharon Osbourne? This celebrity feud isn’t over yet.

Brown recluse spider bite nearly blinds college student

A Texas Christian University student suffered from necrosis of the ear and was nearly blinded by a spider bite.

A brown recluse spider bite almost blinded a Texas Christian University student.

Nikki Perez, a fashion merchandising student, was bit by a brown recluse spider in the Amarillo airport. Perez, 21, was sitting next to her boyfriend Eric and his mother when she felt a sharp sting on the back of her neck.

“Next, I felt something crawling over my face and my eye. I yelled for Eric to help me, and when he saw the spider crawling over my face, he swatted it to the floor and stamped on it,” Perez said.

The “sharp sting” was the bite of the venomous brown recluse spider. Perez wrapped the brown recluse spider in a tissue to show doctors.
She said she felt “funny instantly.”

The hospital could not do much to help Perez until further symptoms appeared. Side effects of a brown recluse spider bite include pain and redness at the bite site, vomiting, fever, itching, and muscle pain.

But other effects of a brown recluse spider bite can be much worse. The bites can cause necrosis, or skin rot, and even death.

Perez’s head began to swell so much that her left eye swelled shut.

“I was going blind… it was terrifying,” she said, “It was spreading all over my head, which actually felt like a bit of a relief as the pain was so concentrated behind my ear.”

The brown recluse spider bite was causing necrosis in her ear.

“My ear basically started to rot right on schedule with the doctor’s predictions. Then it started spreading to my other eye,” Perez said.

Nikki Perez photographed her entire brown recluse spider ordeal from the first bite to being fully head. Unfortunately, she was not healed until she spent a short time in the hospital and received skin grafts on her rotted ear.

Brown recluse spiders are reportedly spreading throughout North America, but they rarely come out of hiding. Only 50 percent of brown recluse spider bites produce venom.

Still, stories like this don’t help cure arachnophobia.

Lindsay Lohan hit-and-run a "complete lie"

Lindsay Lohan is outraged at accusations of a hit-and-run.

Lindsay Lohan only has two weeks to go until her probation effectively ends- but is she getting herself into more trouble?

Lindsay Lohan has been accused of grazing a man’s knee with her Porsche, then driving away in the early hours of Wednesday morning.

The man allegedly told police at the scene that he didn’t need medical attention but went to the emergency room hours later. It has also been alleged that the man made claims about a hit-and-run after he found out who was driving the car.

Lindsay Lohan refuted the claims in an extended Tweet.

“Scrape? This is all a complete lie. I’ve been at community service. Last night, I attempted to wish a friend happy birthday, which I didn’t even get to do because I was freaked out by all of the paparazzi. These false accusations are absurd.”

Lindsay Lohan will appear in court March 29 for her final probation hearing. Her publicist has said that they are confident the matter will be cleared up in a few days, but more legal troubles could prolong a Lindsay Lohan comeback.

Lindsay Lohan, can you just take it easy for a couple more weeks?

Rod Blagojevich heads to prison

The former governor of Illinois left his home Thursday morning for a Colorado federal prison.

Rod Blagojevich is headed to prison today.

Convicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich left his home this Thursday morning to board a plane for Colorado where he will spend his 14-year prison sentence.

Rod Blagojevich pushed through the crowd of reporters and bystanders outside of his Chicago home just after 6 a.m. His wife and daughters did not walk to the car with him, but his wife, Patti, was seen standing by him crying Wednesday night.

Patti Blagojevich has proclaimed her husband’s innocence since the beginning of the corruption case against him.

Rod Blagojevich boarded a plane from Chicago to Colorado where he is expected to report to a prison by 2 p.m. this afternoon. He was not taken in handcuffs and will check into the prison like checking into a hotel. But, instead of a bath robe, he’ll be given a khaki prison uniform and become Inmate No. 40892-424.

Rod Blagojevich was convicted on 18 counts of corruption, including charges that he tried to sell or trade President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat.

Wednesday night, Rod Blagojevich spoke for 10 minutes in what has been called a “campaign-style” farewell. He insisted that he never intentionally broke the law and thanked voters for electing him governor twice.

“Saying goodbye is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do,” Rod Blagojevich said,” I’m leaving with a heavy heart, a clear conscience and I have high, high hopes for the future.”

Rod Blagojevich is the second Illinois governor in a row to go to prison for corruption.

Lindzi Cox wishes Ben and Courtney the best

And she is NOT back with her “Dumpsville” ex.

Lindzi Cox says she doesn’t have any bad feelings towards Ben Flajnik, who rejected her on The Bachelor Monday night.

Lindzi Cox made it to the final Rose Ceremony alongside Courtney Robertson, who ultimately won the contest, and Ben Flajnik’s love.

“It was a good ending. Like everything happens—I’m happy for them, I’m really  happy for me. Like, I’m in a really good place,” Lindzi Cox told Jimmy Kimmel Monday.

“I don’t wish ill on them—I wish the best for them,” Lindzi Cox added.
How did Lindzi Cox feel watching the season, knowing she would ultimately be rejected in the last episode?

“It was kind of hard to watch. It was weird,” Lindzi Cox said.

It probably was weird, considering she told Ben’s mom in the finale, “I’ve completely fallen in love with him and the person he is. I would be honored if I were the one picked.”

Lindzi Cox, the sweet Florida girl, caught viewers’ attention when she rode up on a horse the first night she was introduced to Ben.

Lindzi Cox insists she did not tell anyone, including her own mother, how the season panned out.

One thing Lindzi Cox has opened up about is her reunion with her ex.

Earlier in The Bachelor season, Lindzi Cox told Ben Flajnik that her ex-boyfriend Eric Lenze dumped her via a “Welcome to Dumpsville, population you!” text. Eric Lenze claimed to have reunited with Linzi Cox after the The Bachelor finale. “It’s amazing what people will do to make a dollar,” Lindzi Cox said in response to the rumors.

Gentlemen, if you’re looking for a long-term committed relationship, and you’re not a total jerk, give Lindzi Cox a call.

JonBenet Ramsey would never be on 'Toddlers & Tiaras'

Her father thinks the show is bizarre, and urges parents not to be naive.

JonBenet Ramsey, the child beauty queen, was murdered 15-years-ago. She would have been 21-years-old if she were alive today, but instead, her image is frozen in time as the porcelain doll who performed in pageants with full makeup.

Her father, John Ramsey, wishes now that JonBenet Ramsey had never participated in those pageants. He remembers Jon Benet Ramsey as a little bit of a tomboy, running around in shorts and a t-shirt with her hair kind of scruffy.

That isn’t the way the rest of the world saw JonBenet Ramsey after her murder in 1996.

The photos that circulated were of a very grown-up looking JonBenet Ramsey. The images troubled many people who thought she was too young to have been paraded around in full makeup and dressed like an adult.

Despite the controversy surrounding her death and the photos of her in the pageant circuit, child pageants have become even more popular in the past years. John Ramsey, who will appear with Anderson Cooper on March 16, is now speaking out about the popularity of shows like TLC’s Toddlers & Tiaras, calling it “bizarre.”

“I don’t know. But I think my advice for a parent is just to recognize that regardless of where you live, there could be evil around you. And don’t be naïve about it. And keep your kids protected,” John Ramsey said.

John Ramsey admitted that he has never watched the show in entirety, but he has seen snippets. Toddlers & Tiaras has taken heat for glorifying parents who let their children dress in “sexy” costumes with fake teeth called “flippers” and who let their children drain– and dictate– the families’ finances.

John Ramsey said he remembers a few days before JonBenet Ramsey died. They had put JonBenet Ramsey in the Christmas Day parade in their city, sitting on the back of a convertible waving to the crowd. Her grandmother later told him that a “strange man” had approached the car during the parade, and it made her uncomfortable.

“I think about these things now and it makes me cringe. We were so naïve. I now believe with all my heart that it’s not a good idea to put your child on public display,” John Ramsey said.

The strange murder of JonBenet Ramsey remains a mystery. Although a man named John Mark Karr came forward admitting to the murder a few years ago, his name was quickly cleared, and the case remains unsolved.

Everyone in the Ramsey family, especially John, was a suspect in the murder, but after 12 years the Boulder district attorney cleared the Ramseys of all wrongdoing in JonBeney Ramsey’s murder.

Jeff Foxworthy endorses Mitt Romney

If you have to force a few “y’alls”, you might not be a redneck.

Jeff Foxworthy, the famed “you might be a redneck” comedian, hit the campaign trail with Mitt Romney this week to help boost support for the GOP candidate.

In Mobile, Ala. Monday, Mitt Romney joked with Jeff Foxworthy, saying, “I am looking forward to going hunting with you sometime, and you can actually show me which end of the rifle to point.”

Jeff Foxworthy joked to a rain-drenched crowd, “The fact that you would stand here in this pouring down rain to listen to the next president of the United States proves to me you are smarter than a 5th grader,” in reference to the TV game show Jeff Foxworthy hosts.

Even if the south loves Jeff Foxworthy, will his endorsement get them to love Mitt Romney as well? The northerner was criticized last week after he tried to act Southern, insisting he likes to eat grits. On Monday he announced that he tried catfish for a second time and liked it, even though he said before that he wasn’t a fan.

The Jeff Foxworthy appearance was the first of many designed to bolster Romney’s conservative street cred before Mississippi and Alabama voters hit the polls in the Republican primary today.

Jeff Foxworthy didn’t let Romney’s “y’alls” go unnoticed.

“I gotta’ spend a day with you and teach you how to speak Southern a little bit,” Jeff Foxworthy said.

Jeff Foxworthy went on to say, “We don’t elect presidents on personality. We did that in 2008.”

Whether or not a Jeff Foxworthy endorsement had any effect on Romney’s image in the south will be determined tonight after the poll results are in.
