Tourist Helicopter crash kills 5 near Las Vegas

A Sundance helicopter crashed near Las Vegas killing everyone on board Wednesday.

A helicopter for tourists crashed near the Hoover Dam on Wednesday, killing five people, according to the National Park Service.

The pilot of the helicopter and the four passengers has been confirmed dead, names won’t be released until next of kin has been informed.

The circumstances of the crash are unknown, but according to National Park Service spokesperson Andrew Munoz the crash occurred on the western side of the River Mountains, nearby Lake Mead National Recreation Area.

Sundance is a company that offers helicopter services to Hoover Dam from Las Vegas.

Sundance was involved in another incident in 2003, when the pilot and six passengers of the same model helicopter were killed when one of the rotor blades hit the wall of the Grand Canyon.

Federal Aviation Administration spokesman Ian Gregor said, The FAA and the NTSB are investigating the crash.
