OK Go's New Music Video is Eye-popping and Innovative

Alt-pop foursome, OK Go have carved a name for themselves in the music industry for with their eye-popping, innovative music video. The group first made a statement with their music video for their 2006 hit, “Here It Goes Again” where the four are seen rotating between four treadmills while busting out the dance moves.

This time, they’ve taken it to a whole new level with the official music video for their song, “I Won’t Let You Down” from their fourth studio album Hungry Ghost which released earlier this month.

The video features the foursome riding motorized scooter chairs from Honda who also funded the video. But wait— that isn’t all.

The video, primarily filmed by a camera on a drone also features dozens of choreographed dancers in perfect sync as they dance around in knee-high socks and pleated skirts spinning red and striped umbrellas.

Later in the video a group of Japanese schoolgirls are seen using colorful umbrellas to shape lyrics and faces of the band members.

The entire video pans over the city of Tokyo with a visit to Tokyo Robot Restaurant.

The foursome turned to Morihiro Harano to direct the innovative, eye-popping video that has certainly raised eyebrows due to its creativity and its human vs. machines theme. Japanese choreographer Airman was responsible for the eccentric choreography seen throughout the video which premiered first on NBC News’ Today show.

Movie Review: Ouija, a Film That Fails to Deliver

The latest horror film to hit the box of office is the Universal Pictures supernatural thriller, Ouija. The film, directed by Stiles White, follows a group of four teenagers who dare to awaken the dark powers of a spirit board and are then forced to face terrifying fears.

The movie opens with an eerie scene of a young teenage girl named Debbie who takes the Ouija board and throws it into the fireplace. She is soon joined by her friend who comes to pick her up to take her to their high school football game, though the mood instantly shifts when Debbie decides to stay home.

While sitting at the kitchen table eating leftovers she hears unusual noises that lead her to her bedroom where she finds an untouched Ouija board laying on her bed. The finding terrifies her, leading her to hang herself.

Her friends are shocked by the news and unable to rest with the thought that Debbie did this to herself. When watching homemade videos she filmed, her best friend Lane stumbles upon a video of Debbie playing the Ouija board by herself, a game-breaking rule that is said to curse those who do.

Lane returns to her home to find the Ouija board and later convinces three friends to play with her, in hopes of looking for answers leading into the true cause of Debbie’s sudden and tragic death.

When the four friends are answered by a spirit, Lane looks through the window of the planchette only to see unfriendly images of dead people coming her way. This startles the entire crew and soon they all flee, but this isn’t the last time they awaken the dead.

After witnessing “Hi Friend” typed on computer screens, etched into a wooden desk or written on a wet car door window, the four turn to the table to call back to the spirits they’ve awakened.

As the story goes, they awaken the spirits of a family that resided in the home prior to Debbie’s family and after visiting a mental institution are informed by one of the sisters that they must find a closed off room in the basement and free her sister whose mouth had been sewn shut by her superstitious mother only to later discover they must burn the body and the Ouija board at the same time to stop the tragic deaths of their fellow friends.

The film is oversaturated in poorly planted scares with a shaky and under developed plot that seems to be an endless cycle of playing the Ouija board game only to witness another friend suffer a tragic death.

Overall, the film is poorly constructed and while the introduction scene is captivating and instantly grabs your attention, it is quickly lost in the almost humour cycle of repetitive events.

Iggy Azalea Makes Saturday Night Live Debut

After a week break from the famous Saturday Night Live, the show returned on Oct. 25 featuring  Aussie rapper and chart-topper, Iggy Azalea who made her Saturday Night Live debut on a Halloween themed episode that was hosted by none other than Jim Carrey.

Iggy’s first performance of the night included a medley of her biggest hits, “Fancy” and “Black Widow” with Rita Ora, putting on one of SNL’s most theatrical performances in recent history.

Iggy’s second performance was a revelation of her latest single, “Beg for It,” a track off of her upcoming album, Reclassified a reissue of The New Classic. The track features Danish artist MO on the hook who joined Iggy for the SNL performance of the track.

The performance garnered rave reviews and it’s no surprise that fellow singer-songwriter Charli XCX penned the catchy hook.

The songstress had her chance to showcase her acting skills in a Halloween themed costume contest skit and also joined fellow rapper MO, Jim Carrey and Kate McKinnon to perform a humorous rendition of Sia’s “Chandelier” video where they all appeared in leotards and wigs.

Drake Defeats Hackers By Dropping 3 New Songs

Drake surprised fans Saturday night when he took to Twitter, advising them to visit his official website.

Less than an hour later the nemis delivered by posting three new tracks, each of which were accompanied by the cover art for his highly anticipated rumored album, Views From the 6.

The tracks included “6 God,” “How Bout Now,” and “Heat of the Moment.”

Drake informed fans that the songs were not an EP, but rather songs hackers obtained and planned to leak, so instead he surprised fans early.

“That wasn’t an EP. Just 3 songs that I knew some hackers had. But enjoy! Back to this album,” he tweeted.

It’s safe to say that he did so as a precaution to two of the three tracks being leaked before planned releases considering “How Bout Now” leaked on Oct. 19 after being posted to a Georgia teenager’s SoundCloud account.

The three tracks showcase Drake’s versatility, with “6 God” a bragging rights anthem that attacks his critics, “Heat of the Moment,” a song about his admiration for a new chick and “How Bout Now,” a song that traps him between the two spaces.

Fans can listen and download the new tracks from his SoundCloud.
