Fred Thompson, Oregon State University’s defensive tackle, has died of an apparent heart attack. Thompson was 19.

USA Today reports that Thompson was playing basketball at Dixon Recreation Center on the university’s campus on Wednesday evening when he collapsed. Thompson was then pronounced dead at Good Samaritan Hospital in Corvallis.

Oregon State is expected to hold a press conference on Thursday regarding Thompson’s death.

Thompson described himself as a goofball. “I’m a goofball, so I am always dancing,” Thompson said. “I can dance really well. I can juggle. I am a music guy, but I like making beats. Two of my teammates and I actually recorded a song last year. I just do it for fun when I have spare time — I really enjoy doing it.”

Condolences for Thompson have begun to flood Twitter. You can read them here.
