Shabazz Muhammad: America's top basketball prospect

See highlight reel below

Shabazz Muhammad is known as the nation’s top recruit for college basketball and now has the decision of where he is going to take his talents.

Shabazz’s latest feat that cemented him as the nation’s best came at the McDonald’s All American game where he scored a game-high 21 points as he led the West coast team to a 106-102 victory. After the game he commented, “When you come to any event you want to be known as the best player.” He did just that.

With the Kentucky Wildcats winning the NCAA championship Monday night, much of Tuesday’s speculation puts forth that the Wildcats are a candidate for Shabazz Muhammad. Archie Goodwin, Alex Poythress and Willie Cauley are three of the nation’s top fifty high school basketball players and are all committed to the Kentucky. If Shabazz Muhammad were to join those three, it would see the Wildcats are a shoo-in for back-to-back national titles.

Shabazz Muhammad will make his decision by April 10 and along with Kentucky, Duke and UCLA are also front runners for the prospect. He could place himself amongst the other star names out of Kentucky and Duke, or he could try and lead a team like UCLA on his own, truly displaying his own talents. But the UCLA Bruins have not advanced to the Sweet 16 since their Final Four visit in 2008. The Bruins missed the NCAA tournament altogether this last postseason. The decision is a hard one for the young high school phenom.
