Nosiy kid in theater struck

Suffers bloody nose and missing tooth

A noisy kid in a theater was punched by a 21-year-old man in a Washington state AMC movie theater on April 11.  Yong Hyun Kim, struck the young by during a 3D showing of the movie Titanic, reports the Associated Press.

Kim apparently asked the noisy boy to stop talking, running up and down the aisles and throwing popcorn at him and his girlfriend. The boy then laughed in his face.

At one point Yong stepped over the seats and confronted the subjects behind him,” the police report says. “Yong said he was talking to the subjects when they started laughing at him. Yong said he became so angry and swung his arm at one of the subjects and hit in the face.”

Kim spent the night in Kent City jail but was released the next day. He was charged on May 16 for hitting the noisy kid in the theater, whom lost a tooth and suffered a bloody nose due to the incident.

If Kim is found guilty of the second-degree assault charge, he could possibly face anywhere from three to nine months in jail.

“We strongly encourage guests to be respectful of their fellow moviegoers, and to report any disturbance to an AMC associate, so that we may handle it directly,” AMC Theatres spokesman Ryan Noonan said in a statement. “The safety and security of our guests and associates is important to us, and we want everyone to enjoy the moviegoing experience.”
