Resident Evil Gets Next-Gen Treatment

Katy Hollingsworth

Capcom will be remastering its horror title Resident Evil from the 2002 Gamecube.

Fans of the horror genre have probably played the original Resident Evil for Gamecube; released oririginally in 1996 for Playstation, Resident Evil was “remastered” for Gamecube in 2002 with new gameplay, graphics, story and environmental elements. In 2008, it was ported to the Nintendo Wii.

While a Wii U announcement is lacking, the updated game will be released for Playstation, Xbox and PCs in early 2015.

As a digital purchase, the game will feature 1080p support for current gen and gamers can choose between the classic 4:3 ratio or the new 16:9 widescreen ratio. Sounds have been remastered to support 5.1 surround.

Gamers can also choose between the classic controls or an updated version.

What do you think? Will you be picking up this remastered horror classic?
