Prince Fielder signs nine-year, $214 million deal
Prince Fielder is the newest member of the Detroit Tigers, and he’s got a hefty sum to show for it.
CBS reports that Fielder has signed a nine-year contract worth $214 million. As CBS reports, Fielder, 27, hit .299 with 38 home runs, 120 RBI, 95 runs and 36 doubles last season for the NL Central champion Brewers. He finished third in MVP voting and also took home the All-Star Game MVP.
CBS reports that the Tigers had not been considered a serious suitor for Fielder until today.
