"G.I. Joe: Retaliation" trailer debuts

“G.I. Joe: Retaliation” aims to surpass its predecessor

The trailer for “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” has debuted and is promising to surpass its predecessor.

With director Jon Chu at the helm, “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” is taking a grittier, more militarisitc approach than it’s predecessor. It’s also making some crucial cast changes. Bruce Willis, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Ray Stevenson will be replacing the likes of Marlon Wayans, Dennis Quaid and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, though Ray Park and Channing Tatum will be reprising their roles.

“G.I. Joe: Retaliation: will also pick up where “Rise of Cobra” left off, though Joseph Gordon-Levitt will not be reprising his role of Cobra Commander. As Screen Rant details, “Cobra Commander is now the masked leader of the terrorist organization, and his crony, master of disguise Zartan (Arnold Vosloo), has infiltrated the highest echelon of the U.S. government, posing as the president. With Cobra pulling the strings of power, and still running lawless throughout the globe, a new Joe force is tasked with saving the day.”

“G.I. Joe: Retaliation” will premiere June 29, 2012.

Chris Paul deal rejected

Chris Paul trade rejected, Chauncey Billups to Clippers

Although it appeared yesterday that the Clippers and Hornets were close to making a deal involving trading Chris Paul, the Clippers rejected the deal and claimed Chauncey Billups instead.

The AP reports that Clippers general manager said “the cost was just too high.” In order to obtain Chris Paul, the Clippers were in talks to give the Hornets center Chris Kaman (12.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg), point guard Eric Bledsoe (6.7 ppg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 spg), small forward Al-Farouq Aminu (5.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg) and the Clippers’ unprotected 2012 draft pick via the Minnesota Timberwolves.

“There wasn’t one piece or another piece that killed this deal,” Olshey said. “The aggregate compensation that we were going to have to convey to them was just too much and it was going to hamstring our franchise in the long term.”

Instead, the Clippers used their remaining $3.5 million in salary cap room to claim Billups. The Clippers had a need for Billups since Bledsoe will be sidelined as he continues to recover from right knee surgery on Oct. 7.

“He has the ability to add a lot to our organization, on and off the court,” coach Vinny Del Negro said about Billups. “He’s not ready to retire. He has too much left in the tank.”

Tech Review: V-Moda Vibrato earbuds

V-Moda Vibrato outshine competitors

If you are under the illusion that all earbuds are made equal, you are unfortunately mistaken. You won’t realize how mistaken you are, however, until you experience the V-Moda Vibrato in-ear headphones.

The Vibratos boast some impressive specs:

  • BLISS 3.0 (Bass Level Isolating Soft Silicone) hybrid silicone fittings reduce outside noise and enhance stability, sound and comfort – patent pending
  • Durable Zinc metal construction
  • Kevlar® reinforced cable survives 60K+ bends
  • 45 degree flexible 24K gold plated plug

What’s most important about those specs, though, is that they translate into the user’s listening experience.

The Vibratos come with four sizes of silicone ear fittings to ensure perfect fit and noise reduction. The sound is crisp and clear without sacrificing the bass. If you enjoy listening to music while exercising, the Vibratos also come with comfortable detachable sport earhooks.

What’s more, the Vibratos are equipped with a hands-free mic with a three-button call/music function. And they come with a chic traveling case, keeping all your accessories in one spot.

Sara Gilbert's sister appears on "The Talk"

Sara Gilbert’s sister, Melissa, asked about Sara’s sexuality

Sara Gilbert’s face was red on “The Talk” when the subject suddenly turned to her sexuality.

Sara’s sister, Melissa Gilbert, made an appearance on “The Talk” and was caught a little off guard when co-host Sharon Osbourne asked, “On the subject of love and relationships. When did you first realize that your beautiful sister loved vajayjay?”

The audience and co-hosts laughed as Sara laughed and appeared a little embarrassed.

“You know what, I’ll put it to you this way. … I took her to dinner when she was in her teens and I sat her down and I gave her this long speech about how much I love you and it doesn’t matter and you’re my darling and blah, blah, blah and you can tell me anything. And she looked and me and she said, ‘I’m not gay.’ And I was like, ‘OK, whatever,’” Melissa said, adding that Sara admitted to it years later and that she always kind of knew.

Sara laughed the question off by asking, “Don’t we have a break coming up?”

As we reported previously, Sara Gilbert is now dating Linda Perry. You can watch Sara Gilbert, Melissa Gilbert and the rest of “The Talk” co-hosts in the video below.

Chris Paul to the Clippers?

Clippers reportedly close to trading for Chris Paul

Chris Paul and Clippers fans, prepare yourselves. The Clippers are reportedly close to trading for Paul.

USA Today reports that Paul, currently a point guard for the New Orleans Hornets, was originally involved in a three-tream trade that also involved Lamar Odom and was vetoed by the NBA.

Paul is slated to become a free agent after 2011-12, and will make $16.3 million this season.

As part of the Chris Paul trade, the Hornets would receive center Chris Kaman (12.4 ppg, 7.0 rpg), point guard Eric Bledsoe (6.7 ppg, 3.6 apg, 1.1 spg), small forward Al-Farouq Aminu (5.6 ppg, 3.3 rpg) and the Clippers’ unprotected 2012 draft pick via the Minnesota Timberwolves.

As USA Today reports, the addition of Paul would give the Clippers four proven scorers in the starting lineup.

Lamar Odom dealt to Dallas Mavericks

Lamar Odom previously played with the Lakers

Lamar Odom has been dealt to the Dallas Mavericks.

ESPN reports that Odom will join the Mavericks after a rollercoaster of a weekend for the NBA. Originally, Odom was included in a three-team trade for Chris Paul, but the move was vetoed by the NBA. Odom was then dealt to Dallas on Sunday.

“Right now, for me, having Odom, Dirk Nowitzki, Shawn Marion, we may have the best forward trio in this league right now. And that’s exciting,” Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said. “Lamar Odom is a guy we have great respect for as a person and as an all-around player in this league. We feel he’s going to add so many different dimensions for us — length, playmaking, scoring, experience, championship experience.”

Although Dallas is excited about the trade, Odom’s former teammates are not.

“To be honest with you, I don’t like it,” Kobe Bryant said. “It’s tough to lose Lamar. Pau (Gasol) is still here, and we’re all thankful for that. It’s hard when you’ve been through so many battles with players to just see them go somewhere else. It’s tough.”

Odom’s wife, Khloe Kardashian, has taken to Twitter in support of her hubby’s move, saying, “I am blessed and happy anywhere as long as I am with my family! God is great!! Blessed beyond words! I love ALL of my dolls!” and “I would go anywhere with my hubby!”
