We experienced Zedd's True Colors Tour

We detail Zedd’s True Colors Tour during its DC stop

Anton Zaslavski a.k.a Zedd is a Russian-German music producer and EDM artist known for his hit singles – Stay the Night, Clarity and Spectrum — started a tour and we experienced Zedd’s True Colors Tour at the DC stop in North America.

For starters, Zedd’s concerts is well-known because of his stunning visuals and synchronized lights. They are very impressive and I must tell you, it’s not an easy thing to do –creative thoughts also went into them to insure they reinforced the themes in the music and lyrics.

I was able to watch his Moment of Clarity Tour last 2013 and nothing changed except for the fact that it only gets better. Given his classical training in piano since the age of 4 and his drumming experience in a heavy metal band with his brother, there’s not very much room for debate when it comes to Zedd’s musical ability. So stop the stereotypes that DJ’s only know how to push buttons, okay? Good.

Caption: Throwback to 2013, Moment of Clarity tour in Manila, when Zedd helped the people of the Philippines by giving free tickets to his concert to everyone who will bring goodies for all the people affected by the typhoon. Thoughtful Zedd is my favorite Zedd.

True Colors tour in Washington DC was held in DC Armory — Alex Metric, a British musician and producer, started off the show with his very chill set — just right in time to warm the crowd up followed by What So Not, an Australian producer, which basically played some cool beats making the crowd pumped up because of his colorful visuals and hip sound. For North America tour Zedd was able to bring different special guest every night and for this particular night he brought the iconic Tommy Trash on the stage which made the experience extra superb.

It was also the first time for moombahton and electro producer Dillon Francis to join True Colors tour as he will be with Zedd for the rest of October. Dillon Francis made the crowd go crazy — laughing and dancing the whole time.

When Zedd finally hits off the stage, it was really a surreal moment. He never disappoints. With the mixture of his songs from the MoC album to his collaborations with Selena Gomez and Ariana Grande to his latest songs from his latest album True Colors – truly he proves once again how talented and incredible he is as an artist.

To be perfectly honest, it is his body-language that connects him to his audience. I love how he smiles throughout the show, as if he was part of the crowd and inviting everyone to join the fun and forget everything even just for one night.  At times he’s proud, raising his arm in the air with all his might; other times he’s humble, looking up at the sky as if indulging every moment that has been happening in his life.

But his best move is probably by far my favorite —  Wiping the sweat off his brow with his arm. That’s how you know that he’s an honest-to-goodness professional just doing his job like a normal person. Even if it does happen to be the coolest job in the world.

True enough, if you worked hard on something you love and giving up has never been your option – all your sacrifices will be paid off. And Zedd is the living testimony of it all.

The 1975 have a newly released single

This is not a drill, the 1975 have released Love Me

This is not a drill, The 1975 have a newly released single. Yes. We know. We can finally breathe again.

Last Friday – October 9, fans of the infamous British band, The 1975, including us, went crazy waiting for the debut of their new single Love Me on BBC Radio 1. This is their first interview and appearance after months of drought from this fandom.

The four-member band went hiatus for almost six months doing nothing but focus on recording their second album in Los Angeles, California. Feeding us only pink pictures of things on Instagram and endless and typewritten poems by Matty and vintage comic strips., the 1975’s newly released single  What’s not to love?

Rewind to early this summer wherein The 1975 had pulled a deadly stunt on us and deactivated all their accounts on social media for straight 24 hours. Which made us basically insane only just to realize that this was a rebirth of a much pinker than ever version of themselves.

Not to mention the releasing of their tour dates for this year and for early next year is literally bizarre. And trust me when I say that tickets were sold out five mins after they were released. Been there, done that, folks! But the stressful nights and days are totally worth it when you finally secured your ticket to one for their concerts.

If you are reading this and you are not familiar with this band (yet), we are not here to judge you *BUT REALLY? What are you doing with your life?* hence here’s a quick description and appreciation photos for you to indulge in.

First, Matty Healy, the beautiful human sent-by-heaven curly front man. He loves making us go nuts with his out-of-this-world vocabulary and we are not even complaining about it. We are digging it, mate.

George Daniel, the drummer of The 1975. The soft gentle giant of the group (he is really tall). Rumor has it that he gives the best hugs. Aww, Georgie.

Adam Hann – I don’t know how he can be so silent, fragile, innocent, talented, hardcore and charming all at once but that’s Hann for you. He is a man of few words but when he speaks, surely, 100% of it is just too adorable.

And of course, Ross McDonald, the penguin-lover and too-cute-to-handle bassist who will make your heart melt when he flash his lovely smile.

On the serious note though the band have been successful for the past two years from their best-selling self-titled debut album released last 2013 to sold out concerts all over the world and headlining huge music festivals in different countries making them breakthrough artists of 2014.

The 1975 at MTV Crashes. Matty wearing a Slayer shirt and the rest sticking with their black and white aesthetic.

Their second album entitled I Like It When You Sleep For You Are So Beautiful Yet So Unaware Of It will be released on February with, of course, 17 beautiful tracks from The 1975. And for the record, we did not made that title up — it’s just how Matty’s mind works most of the time.

Started from a Punk band to Indie Rock and now a Pop Band. “We’ve become pop stars,” front man Matthew Healy said on their Radio 1 interview. “There’s just not enough good pop bands, man, and I’m sick of it.”

Yes, Matty, you tell ‘em. We are with you.

5 Tips You Must Remember When Writing/Blogging

There are many ways you can create and voice out your ideas online especially nowadays that everything seems to be just around the corner. It may sound easy for some but if you are the one who is responsible for producing the content you may experience some difficulty when it comes on writing a publish-worthy post. So I listed down 5 simple tips you must remember to keep you going.

1.   LIST DOWN IDEAS WHEN THEY STRIKE YOU

Always look for ideas in all places. Whether you are on the bus on your way home, on the grocery store or you are just watching TV – there’s always ideas everywhere. Everything can be a topic for as long as you’re creative putting it together. Once you’ve got your idea, immediately write it down. It doesn’t matter if you’ll put it on your phone or wrote it down on a piece of paper, what’s important is you immortalize your idea because it might be gone in your thoughts later on. It also serves as your future reference just in case you are running out of topics to write. It comes very handy, y’know. The notepad app on your phone should be your new BFF from now on!

2.   INFORM YOUR READERS

This should be your main goal when you are thinking of writing something. You are there to inform others and to share what you know. Don’t state something as a ‘fact’ if you, yourself, is not sure if it is one. Also, most often than not we tend to disregard mentioning sources and links from where we got certain information – do yourself a favor and include them on your article. Insert links, articles sources and quote where you got a certain part of your work. Informing is caring!

3.   BE PERSONAL

Your readers love to know what you think and feel, don’t restrict yourself from sharing what you’ve experienced and your point of view. This will build your connection to your readers. It will also help them decide especially if you are doing a review for a certain book, movie or product. Including your thoughts and being personal every once in a while if you have a blog is a good thing because it gives them the feeling of being a part of your life and that’s what makes them keep on reading your future works and posts.

4.   PROOF-READ 100 TIMES (OR MORE)!

I personally have a tough time proof reading my works and so I am very thankful with editors because they are there to edit things out and make my articles always on point. On the other hand, if I am writing for my personal blog, I have no editor to rely on and so I have no choice but to do the work. It may sound exaggerated but you can read your work for hundreds of times and still there will always be mistakes each and every time. The key is – don’t stop unless you are satisfied.

5.   WRITE, WRITE AND WRITE

You have heard this many times and you will heard this again — practice makes perfect. This is everything. If you think writing is something you are passionate about then there’s no reason why you should not do it. Explore ways on how you will write effectively. Evaluate yourself and apply new techniques every time you write something. Persistence is the key and always be innovative with your works.

Now that you have these helpful tips you can start writing the piece you have in your mind right now. It’s very important to keep on pursuing what you really love doing. If you really want to build a career out of it then better start now. Let us know below your own writing rituals and habits! Leave us a comment!

The 10 Beauty Must-Haves That Every Girl Needs

Achieve the no-make-up look every day with these essentials on your make-up bag

First things first, make-up is not something you should be afraid to try. Us, girls, should loosen up and learn to enhance our natural beauty at all times. We listed the 10 things that your makeup bag should have if you are a kind of girl that doesn’t like to put way too many products on their face and would like to maintain the no-make-up look every day.

1.    Moisturizer

Make sure to apply moisturizer before putting any makeup on your face. It will keep your face hydrated all day. If you have an acne-prone skin (like mine), I would recommend using Proactiv products because it will make your skin happy. I personally wrote a post about my experience using it months ago. You can read it here.

You can try: Proactiv Green Tea Moisturizer

2.    Concealer

Sometimes we just need to hide some things on your face, okay? It’s totally normal. And a little concealer won’t harm you. It is totally a must-have! Pro-tip: When choosing a concealer, always choose a shade darker than your skin tone so it will not look like you have white spots all over your face especially in a night out with friends and they randomly take photos of you with flash – true story. A shade darker than your skin tone will blend well if you apply a liquid foundation and powder afterwards.

You can try: NYX HD Concealer

3.    BB Cream

This is optional but I recommend buying one especially if it has SPF because it can protect your face from exposure under the sun.  You can use liquid foundation as well, both are perfectly okay.

You can try: Proactiv BB Cream

4.    Blush

Hooray! Blush works wonders. Don’t ever miss to pat small amount on your cheeks before going out. It will give life to your face and it gives you the glow that you need.

You can try: Elf Liquid Blush

5.    Mascara

FAVORITE. THING. EVER. You can seriously have a bare face and just put mascara and you’re good to go. #Obsessed is an understatement and everybody is into it right now. It makes everything better.

You can try: Maybelline Big Eyes Mascara (which is by the way the best) and Rimmel Scandal Eyes. They are both gorg but Maybelline is more convenient because it includes a small brush for lower lash which is amazing.

6.    Eyebrow Pencil and Brush

“Learn to groom your brows”

That is one of the most important things I learned this year and cliché may it sound, the statement is true. Know what type of brows fits the shape of your face and always make sure it’s on fleek.

You can try: NYX Brow Pencil in the shade of Dark Brow

7.    Liquid Eyeliner

This is not exactly an essential but it comes very handy at times. Winged eyeliner can never go wrong. You can use the normal liquid eyeliner or you can use the pen one, both is okay. Choose what’s easier for you.

You can try: Covergirl Liquid Eyeliner & NYX eyeliner pen

8.    Lipstick, lip balm, lip tint or any lip product

If you are like me who’s not comfortable having lipstick on, you can use a lip tint or lip gloss. Lip balm will be your new best friend. You can consider this an essential because there are just days when you feel like you need a little bit of color and lip tints are always useful.

You can try: EOS Mint Vanilla

9.    Powder

Pretty much very basic. Every girl should at least have this on their makeup bag because it makes your skin looks fresh and shine-free. Always make sure you have this on your purse every now and then.

You can try: Maybelline FIT ME! Shade 120

10.Eyelash Curler

Appreciate the amazing-ness of eyelash curlers as early as now. PLEASE. Applying mascara has never been this easy. It will also make your eyes look bigger. REMEMBER: EYES IS EVERYTHING.

Let us know if there are things that we are missing out and what you think should be included in this list. Again, if you are not comfortable wearing makeup, it is totally okay and normal. I feel you. No one should put pressure on you on doing things you do not like *wink*. And even if you like putting makeup, you should not feel ashamed about it and think you are less beautiful than you are now. In the end of the day, the most confident you are with yourself, the more it shows outside. Do more of what makes you happy. So keep doing you.

These photo editing

If you are reading this article now, you are probably one of the millions of people that is hooked by the portal of this generation also known as Instagram. Being listed as one of the essential apps you need on your phone, surely Instagram is a no-brainer term for you. There are over 2 billion smart phone users worldwide and it may be doubled by the end of 2016 and 300 million of those, including me, have an Instagram account. Recently, Taylor Swift dethroned Kim Kardashian as being the most followed personality on Instagram. You might be imagining now that she has 300 million followers but NO! She only has 45 million followers! Not even the quarter of 300 million users of the app. How is that even possible? Don’t ask me. I don’t know.

Going back to the title of this article, you are here probably for 2 reasons. It’s either you are already an Instagram addict and you know deep down that you have a wonderful photos on your feed but you just want to make sure you are using the apps that will be mentioned here. OR I will give you the benefit of the doubt that maybe you are just an innocent person that want to step up your Instagram game. Who knows right? Whatever the reason may be, I will not judge you and I’m here to enumerate 4 miracle apps that you need in your life.

1.    Snapseed

First things first, yes, it is a free app. Is it amazing? Surely it is.

Snapseed is one of the most amazing app there is for photo editing. Personally, I’ve been using this app from the moment I started Instagram which is way back 2011 and from then on it just gets better. The best feature of this app is its selective tool which lets you edit the brightness, saturation and contrast of a certain part of your photo. It comes handy at times when there’s just teeny-tiny spot you just want to correct on your photo. It’s so useful you will love it the first time.

2.    VSCO cam

You already probably know this app. I mean, if you are using Instagram I can bet on this that you have seen at least one of your friends posting a pic with a hashtag #vsco #vscocam and by that, if you are still clueless about it, I am telling you now that this is the app they are talking about. And by the term ‘they’, I, myself, is included.

I also used this app way back 2011 when it was still a paid app. You read it right, it was once a paid app but they want to cater more people, I guess, so they made it free for the public to consume and they also opened it for Android users which is the greatest news ever. VSCO lets you edit your photos with a film-esque touch and it just never gets old. The app itself is free and it has already comes with few presets that you can use on your photo but if you are not satisfied they also have premium collection presets that you can buy on their store. Nothing is expensive if you are up to have that #feedgoals, amirite?

3.    Afterlight

Best $.99 you will ever spent on a photo editor app. VSCO and Afterlight are like best of friends. They share the same things but they have differences that compliments each other. If you love having the film effect on your photos, you can rely on this app that it will give you 100% satisfactory thumbs up! The great thing about this app is that you can do so many things on this that you can’t do in just one app.

What differs it from VSCO is that it has unique cropping and transforming tools with more than 15 presets, double exposure tools, natural light leaks, scratchy film texture and 128 different frames to choose from. All those features by the price of $.99? Yes. Deal.

Fun fact: Back in the day, it was once called After Glow.

4.    Phonto

Are you one of those peeps who just love typography for their feed? Well, I guess, this one is for you. Phonto is an app that lets you add beautiful texts on your photos. You can install your own fonts if you are that picky but they have 400 fonts available. Crazy right? This app is very user-friendly and you can do so many things on your texts like change its size, rotate it, change its color, its transparency, and endless possibilities for me to mention here. And did I mention that it’s FREE?

If these photo editing apps doesn’t level your Instagram photos game up then we don’t know what will. Let us know if you tried any of these apps or you just happen to have these on your phone already so we can have a discussion down below. Sounds good? Leave us a comment!
