Will Smith’s 2005 blockbuster Hitch is coming to Fox.
The film starring Smith and Kevin James is being developed into a comedy TV series that will be based off of the successful film and explore dating and sexual topics in the workplace.
Though Smith will not personally revive his role he will, alongside Jada Smith, executive produce the half-hour serie. No names for who will fill the roles of the main characters, a love guru doctor and a smitten man looking for love, have yet been confirmed.
Deborah Kaplan and Harry Elfont will write the series. Kaplan and Elfont are credited for Patrick Dempsey’s 2008 film, Made of Honor.
This is the third time that Smith has tried to develop the blockbuster hit which raked in $370 million at the box office, for a small screen series and with any luck, this time it will be a success.
According to multiple reports, Hitch isn’t the only blockbuster film slated to be developed into a TV Series, other hit movies expected to turn into small screen series are Monster in Law, Marley & Me, Big and Minority Report.
