Jason Aldean apologizes for kissing former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr
Country star Jason Aldean was caught kissing former American Idol contestant Brittany Kerr in a Los Angeles bar Wednesday night. The release of the photos revealed the married country star cheating on his wife. He immediately apologized to his fans.
Aldean took to his Facebook page Sunday explaining “I wanted to talk to you directly, so you were hearing the truth from me and not just reading allegations made about my personal life on gossip websites.” He went on to say “The truth is that I screwed up. I had too much to drink, let the party get out of hand and acted inappropriately at a bar.”
Jason Aldean married Jessica Ussery in 2001 and has two daughters, Keeley, 9 and Kendyl, 5.
Aldean fans seemed to have mixed responses about the star’s slip up. One wrote on his Facebook wall saying “we all make mistakes” while another announced that he sold his Jason Aldean tickets for his San Antonio concert.
According to Aldean, “I left alone, caught the bus to our next show, and that’s the end of the story. I ultimately ended up embarrassing my family and myself. I’m not perfect, and I’m sorry for disappointing you guys. I really appreciate being able to work through this privately with my family and for all your continued support.”
Brittany Kerr, current cheerleader for the NBA’S Charlotte Bobcats, deleted her Twitter account following the controversial events and has not yet responded publicly on the issue. She has however posted to her website that she placed in the top 80 in a Victoria’s Secret Model Search contest.
Kerr’s friends are defending her saying that she had no idea that Aldean was married at the time. Maybe Aldean forgot that bit of information as well while he was locking lips with Kerr.
Aldean is famous for his country hits including Dirt Road Anthem, Big Green Tractor and She’s Country.
