Honda issues recall on Acura TLs

Honda prevents fires

Almost 53,000 Honda Acura TLs are recalled today due to a problem with their power steering mechanisms. While no injuries have occurred due to the problem, Honda prefers to prevent anything from happening.

Honda explained, “Over time, the power steering hose may deteriorate and develop a fluid leak,” adding, “Leaking power steering fluid could lead to loss of power steering assistance or, if it leaks onto a catalytic converter it may result in smoke, or in the worst case, fire.”

52,615 in the U.S. and 4, 266 in Canada are affected are 2007-2008 models with the malfunction and owners of the vehicle will be informed in mid-June. However, to learn early whether or not they are owners of an affected vehicle, Honda customers can visit the Acura recall site.

Any other models of Honda or Acura are not impacted by the recall.
