Adam Carolla

Funnyman may just be a sexist

In an interview with the New York Post,  Adam Carolla said that he thinks female comedy writers are the least funniest form of comedian. This comment immediately made Adam Carolla one of the funniest people this week, but everyone is laughing at him, not with.

During promoting his new book Not Taco Bell Material, Adam Carolla said to the Post:

“They make you hire a certain number of chicks, and they’re always the least funny on the writing staff. The reason why you know more funny dudes than funny chicks is that dudes are funnier than chicks. If my daughter has a mediocre sense of humor, I’m just gonna tell her, “Be a staff writer for a sitcom. Because they’ll have to hire you, they can’t really fire you, and you don’t have to produce that much. It’ll be awesome.”…I don’t care.”

Carolla added:

When you’re picking a basketball team, you’ll take the brother over the guy with the yarmulke. Why? Because you’re playing the odds. When it comes to comedy, of course there’s Sarah Silverman, Tina Fey, Kathy Griffin — super-funny chicks. But if you’re playing the odds? No. If Joy Behar or Sherri Shepherd was a dude, they’d be off TV. They’re not funny enough for dudes. What if Roseanne Barr was a dude? Think we’d know who she was? Honestly.”

Adam Carolla initially gained notoriety for his stint on the radio show Loveline with Dr. Drew, known well for his current show Celebrity Rehab. Carolla also garnered much popularity with The Man Show, which as its title suggests was dedicated to all things manly, hairy and drunk.

But, give in his track record, it’s no surprise that the man whom ended his show with Juggies on Trampolines.

To prove Adam Carolla dead wrong check Tina Fey in the 2010 Emmy’s opening skit.
