A few tips to a healthy brain and overall more efficient you

For most college students, their normal diet of fast food and alcohol isn’t doing them any favors in the academic department. Not only do they look and feel sluggish, they lack the brainpower to even do acceptable academic work. If you find yourself relating to those statements, consider the following tips. They will help you get back on your game and get your grades back up to par.

Increase water intake:

You don’t necessarily need right glasses of water a day, but keep your body hydrated. Dehydration causes the brain to release stress hormones, leading to slight brain damage. pop and coffee do not count!

Cut back on calories:

Lower calorie diets have proved to be beneficial for brain function and life longetivity. Calorie reduction allows your body to produce nerve growth factors that help the brain function better.

Get a daily dose of dietary antioxidants:

Antioxidants help your body flush out toxins that can cause cell and tissue damage.

Cut back on fat:

High fat diets can leave you feeling sluggish and tired. By choosing lean meat and increasing veggie intake, your body will have the energy you need to get through the semester!
