Ryan Gosling to the rescue

Brittney Elkins

Ryan Gosling saved a woman who stepped out into traffic Wednesday.

He can save my life any day.

Ryan Gosling. He’s talented. He’s sexy, and now, he’s a hero for the second time.

The Twitterverse exploded Wednesday when word got out that Ryan Gosling had saved a British journalist from being hit by a car.

Laurie Penny said she was thinking about an article she was writing and forgot to look the right way before stepping into traffic.

“I was crossing 6th avenue in a new pink wig. Not looking the right way because I am from London. Ryan Gosling grabbed me away from a taxi,” Penny tweeted.

Penny said she was thankful that Ryan Gosling was there to help her, but with the onslaught of media attention, she decided to write an article for NYC’s gossip blog Gawker.com.

“I am grateful to the dashing and meme-worthy Mr. Gosling, just as I am grateful to every other kind New Yorker who has saved me from oncoming traffic in recent weeks, good citizens making the streets of this fine city that much safer for random British writers who can’t remember to look both ways,” Penny wrote.

Oh, Ryan Gosling. Laurie Penny may think this is just another day in Manhattan, but your heroics make the rest of us swoon even more than the Ides of March did- and that starred you and George Clooney.

Maybe Ryan Gosling was just doing his duty as a citizen of New York, but it wasn’t the first time he came to the rescue. Video surfaced last August of Ryan Gosling breaking up a street fight in New York. It seems he just always happens to find himself in the right place at the right time.

Move over Batman. Ryan Gosling is saving the citizens of Gotham now.
