Natracare revolutionizes sanitary products for women

For too many years, women have been seduced into thinking that the fluffy white products which they buy in their colourful and crinkly wrappers each month, are somehow the best a girl can get ~ but alas, aggravation and education has finally brought home to women the realization that these products are not what they seem.

Crude oil plastics, chlorine bleaches, synthetics and chemicals are persistently used to make feminine hygiene products. The manufacture and production of plastic is responsible for releasing toxic pollutants, greenhouse gases, and litter.  Dioxins found in pesticides, plastics, solvents, detergents and cosmetics are some of the most deadly chemicals created and are classified as carcinogenic.  Studies conducted in Canada by the Environmental Defence have concluded that “chemical dependence permeates every aspect of our lives and low levels of many toxic chemicals are detectable no matter what age”1

Conventional sanitary pads are made from over 90% plastic (chemically altered petroleum) from crude oil, including polyethylene, polypropylene and super absorbent polyacrylates.  The average woman will menstruate for approximately 37 ½ years during which time she will menstruate around 500 times, 2  use 12,000 sanitary products and collectively,  women annually use 45 billion (45,000,000,000) sanitary pads.  Each one of them has to be disposed of somewhere.  Our landfills are nearing capacity, incinerating releases a host of poisonous chemicals in the air including Dioxin and flushing them down the toilet contributes to the enormous quantities of plastic trash polluting our oceans, killing bird and marine life and affecting the entire food chain.

The Natracare range of totally chlorine-free (TCF), plastic free, disposable feminine hygiene was developed by lifetime environmentalist, Susie Hewson, 25 years ago in response to her concerns for women’s health and that of our environment and the lack of any natural alternative for women.  She created a range of certified organic 100% cotton tampons and organic and natural disposable pads and liners that equal the same convenience, sanitation and performance of conventional brands, but without the use of synthetics and toxic chemicals. Contact Dermatitis or Intimate Feminine Irritation has been linked to some mainstream brands3 and women have found relief from the itching and burning with the organic and natural materials used in Natracare.

Natracare stands for more than just organic and natural products. It is an award winning, ethical company committed to offering organic and natural solutions for personal health care and which leaves a soft footprint on the earth out of respect for all that follows.  Independent, scientific Lifecycle analysis means that award-winning Natracare can substantiate all of its’ green claims and continually achieves the highest ethical score of any feminine hygiene company and their products.

No green washing, just honest labelling and ethically accredited and produced products.

That’s what we call Future Thinking.
