New perfume ad turns heads

Selena Gomez debuted her sexy side in her new fragrance ad. More and more young stars are creating their own fragrance lines, including Selena’s best friend Taylor Swift and Selena’s boyfriend Justin Bieber.

After announcing last year that she was coming out with a fragrance, Selena Gomez asked her fans to help choose the specific scents. “They’re the ones wearing it, so I trust them — their opinions and everything that they’ve done for me,” she said in an interview with Us Weekly.

The polls determined that the fragrance would be made up of raspberry, freesia and vanilla.

In a recent interview, Selena Gomez described the scent as “yummy.” “It’s romantic. It’s not over-bearing. Simple! My mom legitimately likes it. She’s so honest with me; she’ll tell me that she doesn’t like my clothes or the dress I wore, but she wears this everyday. So, I wanted to make sure that it was something that could appease everybody, which is why there’s not a picture of me on the box. I wanted it to be about the fragrance.”

Selena’s mom isn’t the only one excited about the perfume. Fans are super pumped about the fragrance as well. GomezingwithJB tweeted “Can’t wait to walk down the street & people like look at me like ‘you smell good’ & imma be like ‘Selena Gomez’s perfume dude, go buy it’.”

The ad for the Selena Gomez perfume displays a sexier side of the Disney star, showing her in a soaking wet, skin-tight dress, in a sea of purple, featuring a bottle of the perfume in the corner.

As for the design of the bottle, “The bottle was really the hardest part because I wanted it to be tall. I like the fact that it stands out because I always go to the ones that are tallest in the morning. The design of the bottle is almost like a gown, so it represents me on the red carpet. The lips are fun! It makes it more youthful, and you can play with it. I get bored and play with things, so I think it’s perfect,” Selena Gomez told Us Weekly.

The fragrance, called “Selena Gomez,” will be available in May. It will initially be sold only at Macy’s and will be available at Nordstrom, Dillard’s, Bonton, SSI and Ulta later in the summer.
