Crowd surfing stunt goes terribly wrong

Singer’s stunt goes wrong and injures fans

Miguel, the R&B crooner, left quite the mark on his fans last night. During his performance of “Adorn” at the “Billboard Music Awards,” Miguel attempted a theatric jump across the stage’s catwalks, only to fall short and injure two fans.

People watching the telecast immediately became concerned after seeing Miguel accidentally kick one girl in the head, while pinning another down to the stage by her neck. Miguel, seemingly unfazed by the mishap, continued with his performance, never missing a beat. Spectators took to Twitter, wondering if the girls were seriously injured or even killed by the un-choreographed move by Miguel.

Such an outcry occurred that representatives for “Billboard” took to social media outlets to quell the fears of Miguel fans. Sarah Maloy, social media editor, stated, “Yes they are absolutely OK! He was dancing and hugging them post jump.”

Both women were filmed backstage at the awards show holding ice packs and hanging out with Miguel. As for Miguel, he is more than a little embarrassed that his stunt went awry. “The crazy thing is, when you’re performing and you’re just kind of into it, you never know where it’s gonna go and where you’re gonna go with it, and how that might turn out,” he said. “So this is one of the less favorable moments.”

When interviewed by “Billboard” editorial director, Bill Werde, Miguel noted that he was glad the women were ok and that he was happy to make their acquaintance. “I’m very happy to bring my new friend, Khyati, we just met. Unfortunately we did not meet under the best circumstances, but I think we’re okay.”

Perhaps next time Miguel should stick to singing and leave the stunt-double antics to the professionals.
