Kanye West wins a court case against an anonymous group of creators who invented the crypto-currency, Coinye West.

According to Billboard, this past week a U.S. District Court judge in New York ruled in favor of West who filed a lawsuit against an anonymous group of creators who invented digital money that resembled his name and featured a fish logo wearing the iconic shutter-shade glasses.

Following the launch of the crypto-currency’s official website this past January, West’s lawyers immediately contacted the group with a notice that read: “Given Mr. West’s wide-ranging entrepreneurial accomplishments, consumers are likely to mistakenly believe that Mr. West is the source of your services.”

The group remained hidden and did not respond to the letter from West’s lawyers, leading them to file a cease-and-desist. West’s team filed an amendment in March which included background information regarding the creators of Coinye West.

According to multiple reports, the group remained anonymous by using Registry services and other means and was spread worldwide, including coders from the U.S., China, the Netherlands, New Zealand and Slovakia.

Only three of the group members responded to the lawsuit.
