CIMMfest will light up the windy city with indie films and movies

Night two of the 5th annual CIMMfest

The 6th annual independent music and film festival will take place May 1-4

 

CHICAGO- The Windy City will soon be bustling with the visuals of stunning independent films and the sounds of amazing indie music acts for the sixth annual Chicago International Movies and Music Festival in the Logan Square, Wicker Park and Bucktown areas.

Happening from Thursday May 1 to Sunday May 4, this year’s CIMMfest will be bigger than ever, featuring over 65 musical acts and over 90 films, including nine world premieres happening. The music this year will rival all other years of CIMMfest with performanes from Yo La Tengo and Escort at the infamous Concord Music Hall. Metro, City Winery and the Logan Square Auditorium will also be lending out their venues to house acts such as Claudio Simonetti’s Goblin, Booker T. and Murder by Death who will be a part of the Bloodshot Records 20th Anniversary Showcase.

Of course the films at CIMMfest will be top notch as well. The exclusive CIMMfest World Premieres include We Grew Up Here, a film with members of the Chicago band Paper Thick Walls, Looking for Johnny is a documentary film about Johnny Thunders. There will also be a U.S. premiere of the animated Indian film, The World of Goopi and Bagha along with a premiere of Led Zeppelin Played Here.
