Rumer Willis Attends SAG Awards Party

Rumer hit the town less than a week after mom Demi Moore’s hospitalization

Rumer Willis must have needed a break from her family’s recent trauma. The 23-year-old model and actress attended a gala on Sunday night with Glenn Close’s daughter Annie Starke, reports OnTheredCarpet.com.

Demi Moore was taken to a Los Angeles medical center on January 23 after the Los Angeles City Fire Department received a 911 call from her home.  The actress decided in November to end her six-year marriage to actor Ashton Kutcher.

Rumer has not commented on reports that say she was one of several people who witnessed the event.  A spokesperson for Rumer had no comment on her attendance at the party so soon after her mother being hospitalized.

Rumer Willis is the daughter of Demi Moore and ex-husband Bruce Willis.  The former couple have two more daughters together, 20-year-old Scout and 17-year-old Tallulah.

Christina Aguilera Raises Eyebrows at Etta James’ Funeral

Diva made some fashion faux-pas during tribute

On Sunday, as Christina Aguilera paid tribute to the recently passed Etta James at the icon’s funeral with a rendition of “At Last”, all eyes were on her…for all the wrong reasons, says the NY Daily News.

No one doubts Aguilera’s intentions were sincere, but it was hard not to notice a couple things about the diva’s appearance.  Aguilera is never shy about showing off her curvaceous figure, but Sunday’s black blazer featured an absolutely plummeting neckline….not what you’d expect to see at a funeral service.

As Aguilera belted out the tune, she must have worked up a sweat as well, because in close-up photos, small streams of what appears to be self-tanner look to be running down the front and back of her legs.  Observers said they could tell she was uncomfortable and noticed her trying to disguise brushing her legs together to blend the stains.

Aguilera didn’t let the blunders deter the service’s message.  “I can only hope that she felt the love in the room as we all came together to pay tribute to her and celebrate her life as a person and as an artist. She will be deeply missed and I thank her family for allowing me such a great honor,” she said later in the day.  We can only hope that she’ll be more conscious of her fashion choices in the future.

Etta James died on Jan. 20 at the age of 73 after a long battle with leukemia and complications from dementia.

Occupy DC Protestors Resist Eviction

Monday deadline doesn’t worry participants

As noon on Monday passed, participants in the Occupy DC movement showed no signs of following the eviction notice fliers that were passed out over the weekend, according to USA Today.

Officials warned that they planned to enforce a no-camping rule and start moving out protesters.  The National Park Service had warned protesters that those who violate the camping rule at Freedom Plaza and McPherson Square would be subject to arrest.  But by mid-afternoon Monday nothing had happened.

Last week, republican lawmakers questioned why the Park Service has allowed Occupy protesters to camp for months on federal land. National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis said, “protesters have a right to be in the park and won’t be evicted, but they will be encouraged to sleep elsewhere.”  Protesters aren’t planning to pack up and go, but they are taking notice of the warning and trying to comply with the guidelines.

44-year-old protestor Barry Knight has been living at Freedom Plaza since Christmas.  He is under the impression police will arrive at night time when protestors start to sleep inside their tents.  “We have to have our tents open and not have our sleeping bags rolled out to show we’re not camping,” he said.

Knight said that if police begin to enforce the no-camping rule at night, he will sleep on the sidewalks of the city and return to the camp during the day.  His goal is to continue drawing attention to the movement, as well as the “thousands of people” who already live on the streets all over the country.

Kyra Sedgwick Shows Off New Ink

Best actress nominee left new tattoo exposed on red carpet

At Sunday night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, everyone made sure to turn heads on the red carpet.  But Kyra Sedgwick had everybody taking a second look, says People.

The 46-year-old star of “The Closer”, who was nominated for best actress in a drama, smoldered in a sleek, bright red Emilio Pucci gown.  The backless design allowed her to show off a new permanent accessory.

“It’s a family tattoo,” she said of the design.  Linear and minimal, the tattoo is a clever overlapping of four stenciled letters.  “It’s all our initials. K, K, S and T,” Sedgwick explained.  The letters represent herself, her husband of 23 years Kevin Bacon, their 19-year-old daughter Sosie and 22-year-old son Travis.

Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom Hope for Baby

Odom admits his jealousy over Kourtney’s pregnancy

Khloe Kardashian fans are aware of her and husband Lamar Odom’s hopes for a little bundle of joy.  But the second season of “Khloe & Lamar” gives us more insight into how their struggle to start a family has affected their relationship, says the Huffington Post.

Khloe used Twitter to respond to rumors she had been undergoing fertility treatments, claiming, “If and when I do, I will shout it from the rooftops, but for now it’s in God’s hands.”

Even if the couple is leaving it up to God for now, their longing for a child has become part of their everyday lives.  After the season finale of “Kim & Kourtney Take New York”, an extended preview of “Khloe & Lamar” aired.  In the clip, we see Kourtney ask Lamar, “Were you jealous that Kourtney got pregnant again?” and Lamar responds, “Yes, they get to have another baby and I don’t.”

Ouch!  Those words had to be hard for Khloe to hear, but she seems to be keeping a positive attitude.  She recently used her blog to post a trailer for their show and tell fans that she remains optimistic, sharing, “no matter what, at the end of the day, Lam and I have each other and that’s all that matters :)”.

Khloe and Lamar were married in September of 2009.  Lamar has three children with former girlfriend Liza Morales.

Mary Tyler Moore Receives Lifetime Achievement Award

Iconic actress presented with award at SAG Awards 2012

During Sunday night’s 18th annual Screen Actor’s Guild Awards, Mary Tyler Moore was presented with the lifetime achievement award by her former co-star Dick Van Dyke, says the NY Daily News.

Van Dyke and Moore were famously convincing as husband and wife Rob and Laura Petrie 1960s sit-com “The Dick Van Dyke show, and Moore had her own breakout sit-com “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” throughout the 1970s where she charmed as Mary Richards.

Van Dyke sung her praises and made sure the world knew Moore was much more than a pretty face.  He noted her achievements as Hollywood executive, as her MTM Enterprises has produced several other hit shows.  He had also commented to red carpet reporters earlier in the evening, “I still have a crush on her.”

Moore accepted the accolade with an anecdote of how she came into her own.  In 1955, Moore was entering show business at the age of 18.  There were six other Mary Moores in the Screen Actors Guild, so she made her father and brother’s middle name her middle name as well, and Mary Tyler Moore came to be.

She said of her name change and following success, “It was right. SAG was happy, my father was happy, and tonight, after having the privilege of working in this business among the most creative and talented people imaginable, I too am happy, after all.”

Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum has been spending time in the hospital with his 3-year-old daughter Bella, who came down with pneumonia over the weekend, says Detroit Free Press.

On Sunday, Santorum spoke with reporters over the phone from his daughter’s hospital room.  The former Pennsylvania senator said, “Doctors hope she can go home in the next few days,” but she, “isn’t out of the woods yet.”

While Santorum has cancelled some campaign events to spend time with Bella, he told reporters, “We’re going to get out on the campaign trail later tomorrow … heading out to the Midwest, and start campaigning in the next states as we move this campaign forward.”  Santorum’s 20-year-old daughter Elizabeth was sent to Florida to campaign for him on Sunday.

Shaun White Scores Perfect 100 At Winter X Games Final

25-year-old snowboarding star makes history

As if Shaun White wasn’t enough of a superstar, his performance during Sunday’s superpipe final solidified his place in Winter X Games History, reports USA Today.

In the elimination round Sunday afternoon, White broke his amplitude record set in last year’s gold medal-winning finals performance, and during his first run of the final round he earned a score of 94.

A fall on his second run left some room for his competitors to hope, but White’s performance on his third run earned him a perfect score of 100 from the judges as well as his fifth consecutive gold medal in the event.

White’s third run included an 18-foot backside air, a 17-foot frontside double cork 1080, an 11-foot switch frontside double cork 1080, a 14-foot frontside cork 540, a 13-foot backside double cork 1260 and a 12-foot frontside double cork 1260.  This was the first back-to-back double cork to be completed during the Winter X Games.  White’s score was also the first perfect score in Winter X Games history. “I just came through it and everything felt perfect,” White said of his performance.

Two days prior to his unprecedented run, an ankle sprain forced White to withdraw from a slopestyle event.  When he failed to show for Saturday’s pipe practice, it wasn’t known if he would even compete in Sunday’s final.

Pregnant Alessandra Ambrosio Stuns on Runway

Victoria’s Secret model shows off baby bump

Alessandra Ambrosio is living, strutting proof that mamas all over can still work it.  Over the weekend in San Paulo, Brazil, the 30-year-old model didn’t let her growing belly keep her out of the spotlight, says Yahoo!

Showing clothes for the designer Colcci, Ambrosio made two passes down the runway, first in a sleek dress and saucy red pumps, and again in a funky sweater paired with short shorts and heels.  The model’s baby bump was clearly stated, as she’s five months along and doesn’t swell anywhere else.  Bright red lipstick and a messy updo completed her looks.

The hot mama seemed to have a great time rocking her belly.  She was all smiles and even gave a little wave to celebrity buddy Ashton Kutcher in the front row.  Ambrosio was more self-conscious about her tummy earlier in her pregnancy.  She kept it a secret before working the Victoria’s Secret show in November, but has obviously embraced her body’s recent changes.

Ambrosio and fiance Jamie Mazur also have a 3-year-old daughter named Anja Louise.

Tim Tebow and Brad Paisley Team Up On Stage

Broncos QB and country star’s impromptu duet

Tim Tebow attended Brad Paisley’s Denver tour stop on Saturday night, and the quarterback was invited up on stage by the country star, says Yahoo! News.

Tebow has said his favorite band is Rascall Flatts, but it seems he likes country all around, as he was thrilled to meet Brad as well as his opening acts Scotty McCreery and The Band Perry.

Brad Paisley didn’t appear star struck by the football celeb.  “You can throw an 80-yard touchdown pass,” joked Paisley, “but can you sing?”  Tebow rose to the occasion by ringing out a line of Brad’s hit tune “I’m Still A Guy”, which of course earned a roar from the crowd.

“Me and Tim Tebow, probably not gonna be nominated for musical duo of the year, but you never know,” Brad Paisley said on Twitter.  Tebow used is own tweet to report that he had a blast, but won’t be quitting his day job.
