OSU football players met with new coach on Tuesday

OSU football is going to go through some big changes, if Urban Meyer’s words and first official meeting with the team are any indication.

Meyer had scheduled a 7 a.m. meeting with the Ohio State University football team on Monday, hinting that the OSU football players  “need to wake up, that they need to start working earlier than their competition, that they need to sit up straight and pay attention,” AP reports.

As the AP continues, OSU’s season has been marred by numerous suspensions. Tuesday marks Meyer’s first official day as coach, after interim coach Luke Fickell coached his last game on Monday.

“I’m just ready for next year,” sophomore defensive lineman Johnathan Hankins said. “I’m anxious to turn the page. He’s just going to give us a brief talk (today) and take it from there. I’m going to be prepared for next year and get the job done.”
