From saving a horse and riding a cowboy Thursday night with Big & Rich to drinking out of red solo cups Sunday night with Toby Keith, country music fans from all over came to party country style at Country Thunder 2012. In Twin Lakes, Wisconsin, Country Thunder 2012 took place July 19-22, and was an unforgettable weekend for everyone involved.

Whether you are a true southerner, a city slicker with a little twang beating in your heart, or just looking for a good party, Country Thunder 2012 brought out a very diverse crowd dressed in cowboy boots and jean shorts. Although the concerts started at 12:30 in the afternoon and lasted until 10:30 p.m., Country Thunder was an event that began when you slipped into your boots in the morning and ended when your head hit the pillow (whether that was on an actual bed or couch at a lake house, a tent on the Country Thunder camp grounds, or just the bed of your pick up truck).

Over 33,000 fans packed into the grounds of Great American Country Thunder to see headliners such as Big & Rich, Luke Bryan, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton, Toby Keith and more. When the crowd was not dancing and singing along with some of country music’s best performers, they were either grilling out with friends at the camp grounds, walking around meeting new people, or swing dancing and partying at one of the many party tents. However, one thing that was sure to be found at ever activity throughout the four day event was beer – and lots of it.

Nine Flags was one of the hit spots that had a big screen that played some of country music lovers’ favorite hits with a hay dance floor for some swing dancing. Another popular spot was a huge party tent with a stage that held a DJ that supplied the crowd with every genre and generation of music one could hope for. Friday night, Luke Bryan and Jason Aldean came to party in the tent as they crowd surfed and danced with their fans until 2:00 in the morning.
