The controversial star gushes exuberantly
Miley Cyrus,at the ripe old age of 19, is now engaged to boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, 22, whom the controversial star has been dating for three years.
Miley Cyrus and Hemsworth met on set of The Last Song in 2009, and they have been dating since. Hemsworth popped the question in the end of May with a reportedly 3.5 carat diamond ring.
Hemsworth is from Melbourne, Australia where he began pursuing his acting career in high school, according to the Internet Movie Database, and Hemsworth’s role in The Hunger Games gained him international distinction.
What changed Miley Cyrus’s image when she was 15 was a risqué Vanity Fair photo shoot where all she wears on the magazine cover is a white bed sheet. She made a public apology afterward, proclaiming her embarrassment, and at 18, a video was leaked of her smoking salvia. She has gotten back on her feet after both events by joking and clearing her reputation.
Since those events, Miley Cyrus was also criticized for her provocative performances and videos – one performance in particular, where she danced on a moving pole.
But, Cyrus feels her success blooming and is elated. Miley Cyrus tweeted Wednesday, “Life is beautiful.”
On The Talk, host Sharon Osbourne gave her two cents on Miley Cyrus’s engagement, stating, “I think that she is 19, but in her head she is an old soul. She has lived 19 lives in 19 years … She is an accomplished young woman, who knows what she wants at this time in her life.”
“I’m so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam,” Miley Cyrus told People magazine.
Hannah Montana posed as Miley Cyrus’s career launch where she showed off her comedic talents as a young teen experiencing archetypal growing pains. Cyrus’s latest film, LOL did not impress and went straight to DVD, but she is returning to her singing career in the meantime. Cyrus is recording a new album while Hemsworth shoots Empire State, Paranoia before the next Hunger Games.
