Al Roker admitted to going commando after pooping his pants

TV Weatherman admits to soiling himself at the White House

Al Roker, best known as the weatherman on NBC’s Today, openly admitted to pooping his pants during a visit to the White House. Yes, it’s true. Roker doesn’t even have any qualms about the incident, freely describing what happened in an almost too-detailed timeline as if he was proud of it. Prior to his incident, Roker had undergone gastric bypass surgery and lost over 100 pounds as a result. He was on a press tour for his new book about his struggles with weight loss.

“When you have a bypass and your bowel has been reconstructed, you think you’re pretty safe,” he elaborated. “I probably went off and ate something I wasn’t supposed to.”

Innocent enough, but Roker continued: “As I’m walking to the press room, I go, I have to pass a little gas here. So I’m walking by myself, who’s going to know? Only a little something extra came out.”

While that quote alone would make the tabloid hall of fame, Roker stil continued to clarify his situation in case anyone could have misconstrued words. NBC correspondent Nancy Snyderman asked him, point-blank: “You pooped your pants?”

“I pooped my pants,” Roker freely admitted before pressing on, “I was panicking. So I got to the restroom of the press room, threw out the underwear and you know, went commando.”

It’s perhaps very inconsequential news that Al Roker accidentally soiled himself — such instances aren’t uncommon side effects of gastic bypass surgery — but the gem comes in with Roker’s brave, matter-of-fact admission in dealing with a sensitive issue. It’s doubtful that many other figures in the public eye would be as candid about such an occurance, which makes Roker’s honesty so refreshing — and entertaining.
