"Avatar 2" was originally slated for a December 2014 release, but it has now been pushed back to December 2016.
Metro reports that "Avatar 2" producer Jon Landau suggested that the film is now slated for a December 2016 release date. No explanation has been given for the delay, but it has been suggested that Cameron needs more time to push the boundaries of 3D.
Cameron reportedly wants to make "Avatar 2" more realistic by shooting it at 60 frames per second. The industry standard is 24 frames per second.
