Phish is coming to Burgettstown, PA June 18th with tickets going on sale January 30th. Is this the start of summer tour? Is it real?

After selling out three shows at the Hampton Coliseum in Virginia, Phish has been the center of the reunion spotlight for 2009. Phish last played together at their festival, Coventry, in the summer of 2004. The Hampton shows will mark their first time playing together as a band in five years. 

Since Hampton is only a three show-run and sold out in just seconds of going on sale, Phish has also been the subject of many rumors. Whether it’s summer tour dates or making it’s first Bonnaroo appearance, people are chatting away.

Today, LiveNation.com posted that Phish will be performing on June 18, 2009 in Pittsburgh, PA at the Post-Gazette Pavilion. People are speculating this to be the first of more summer tour dates. They later took that down.

Our Take: Finally! Some more Phish news that’s legitimate!  A tour date during the summer in Burgettstown only leads me to believe that its one date of a national tour. I mean, who plays just one show in Burgettstown at a random time if they don’t plan on playing anywhere else? I’d be on the look out for more dates and maybe even a confirmation regarding the possibility of Bonnaroo. Oh yeah and a personal side note, I snagged a Friday night ticket in Hampton, see you all in Virginia!

UPDATE: Live Nation took the date down, but we have an interview this afternoon to see what the deal is. Stay tuned.
