Yes, you can…date online

If you're considering going online to find your match, give it a shot. You have nothing to lose.

Kurt M. Nelson

Tired of the same old bar scene? Wondering why you’re still single? Wondering why you’re still with the same person? Did you ever think about hanging out with a different group of friends once in awhile? Do you ever feel like you can’t meet new friends because you hang out with the same people night after night after night? Do you ever wonder if you can change things?!

Change has come, change is now! As President-elect Obama has said, “You are what you have been waiting for… Yes You Can!”

We have all seen the commercials for eHarmony, in which two perfect strangers find love behind a computer screen (well, maybe). How is this possible? I think that everyone is a skeptical and mocking when they are confronted with the question of online dating. But, in reality, I would bet that behind the scenes you are more into the idea than you give off. Honestly, what are you so worried about? That someone will see you on one of those websites? Well that means that they tried it too, so who cares! You have a better shot at making a fool out of yourself at a bar than you do behind the safety of a computer screen with censored information.

You have absolutely nothing to lose when signing up for one of these dating sites. You can go out every night of the week in hopes of finding someone you connect with, spending money you don’t have. Or you can join one of these dating sites and for the same money you spend in a one night, you can have possible connections actually sent right to you via email for an entire month! And this is the best part… you can either chose to talk to them or not, and you don’t have to go through that whole awkward stage or come off sounding rude!

Everyone knocked Facebook when it first came out because it was some new internet friendship site… now look at it! You can’t go out on a Saturday night without hearing the the networking site’s name used as a verb. Facebook has reunited past connections, bonded friends and created new lifelong relationships. That is exactly what the concept of online dating… so what are you waiting for? This gives you the green light, the get out of jail free card to date multiple people at the same time, never get caught and not feel guilty. So go ahead, log on and find out what it has in store for you! You have nothing to lose, give it a shot. Can you find a match? YES YOU CAN!

Totally agree that online dating has changed the dating scenario...I read that everyday about 250 people get married from eHarmony...now thats fabulous...but what worries are 2 things -

1. With splurge in online dating sites like Facebook, Match.com, eHarmony, etc - there are so many cases that we everyday hear about fake profile and even rapes on date!

2. Privacy - Even I have been stalked by a person whom I met on Facebook!

There is also increase in mobile phone application , one I have been using is Bluepont - this is slightly better as it maintains the privacy of a user to a great extent…

Well, you can never ignore those kinds of cases, the only remedy for those worries are, before giving out any personal information (ways to contact you) know the person first online, dig up anything you have to dig up, after that you evaluate if that person is worth trusting.

Dating can be so cool, but finding a date through the net, wow, that’s kinda dangerous, you don’t know if he’s for real or not. I rather sit on my Club Chair and read magazines.

To be more romantic when dating, bring her to your house and let her meet your family, even your pets. Show her your pets’ Patio Dog Doors, if she’s interested with these kinds of stuff and both of you are compatible!

One have to give away just the information one feels secure about. Not phone, not address, etc. Just like in off line life.
