Many of us have experienced sexual tension with a member of the opposite sex at one time or another. A lot of times, television shows and movies have some of the best examples of the intense sexual tension two individuals have for one another. Some worked out, and others are just beginning their stories. Here are five of the best:
5. Glee’s Emma and Will
Granted, they’re newbies on the entertainment scene, but Emma and Will are so clearly perfect for each other, you just want to reach into the television and take Will by the hand and say “What the hell are you doing with your wife Terri?” I’m excited to see where the show takes these two adorable nerds.
4. Gossip Girl’s Chuck and Blair
The games they played with each other last season were so deliciously juicy, you couldn’t help but sit there, glued to the screen. It was so obvious Chuck wanted Blair, but the two couldn’t quite figure things out until that fateful day Blair was walking back to her apartment. Chuck was there, leaning against a limo with some of her favorite things from Europe, including macaroons and flowers.
3. The Thomas Crown Affair’s Catherine and Thomas
You could tell from the moment the two met that it was going to end with both of them naked somewhere. The dance scene alone made you want more, and 10 years later, this remake is still a classic.
2. Jim and Pam from “The Office”
Jim and Pam are your quintessential normal TV couple. They are about as normal as made-up characters can get, yet I really enjoyed how writers wrote a pre-wedding pregnancy in for Pam. It was perfect because, in many normal instances, life throws out little curveballs just like that.
1. When Harry Met Sally’s Harry and Sally
The two that basically were the beginning of the modern display of sexual tension between a man and a woman. Twenty years later, if you decide to rent this movie, trust me that you’ll find so much relevance, you’ll be shaking your head and laughing. The greatest thing about the two is that after 12 years, they finally end up realizing they’re meant to be. Sure, it’s a little far-fetched, and the end is a little campy, but Norah Ephron has the unique ability to make every scene seem to perfectly real.
