Laura Prepon's Future is Unknown for Season 2 of "Orange is the New Black"

Laura Prepon’s character (Alex Vause) may or may not be returning for more than one episode for season two of the hit Netflix series.

Good news and bad news. The good news is Alex Vause, played by Laura Prepon, will be back for Season 2 of Netflix’s hit series “Orange is the New Black”. The bad news? The infamous ex-girlfriend of Piper Chapman (Taylor Schilling) is expected to return solely to wrap up her part in the storyline and will most likely be back for only one episode, according to Buzzfeed.

Even Prepon’s cast mates are unsure if she will be back for the entire second season of “Orange is the New Black”, or if they do know they’re keeping quiet. Taylor Schilling told E! News, “Well, you know, I don’t really know anything about that, I just know that she’s an amazing actress and I’ve really had an incredible time working with her and I know that there’s no end to that relationship,” It is known that Prepon signed a one year contract with the Netflix show and that contract ended after the first season.

Allegedly, Prepon’s episode count for season 2 on “Orange is the New Black” is not officially set. Or should we say when it comes to whether or not inmate Alex Vause will remain at the women’s correctional facility, the jury is still out.

It is not certain exactly how popular the addictive new drama-comedy “Orange is the New Black” actually is due to Netflix not being rated by Nielsen. Netflix is also not releasing ratings of their own any time soon. “Orange is the New Black” has a loyal following on social media and keeps news sources buzzing, add that fan base and notoriety to the fact that its’ creator Emmy award winner Jenji Kohan, was the creator of the popular Showtime comedy “Weeds”. Those factors alone would make for a successful hit, but “Orange” doesn’t stop there. It possesses a storyline that makes you CRAVE more and a great cast of endearing oddballs. “Orange is the New Black” has all the ingredients to make a winning show whether we know the ratings or not.

Once you start watching “Orange is the New Black” good luck, because you can’t stop. For those who haven’t jumped on the “Orange” bandwagon just yet, fear not because binge watching all 13 episodes of season 1 seems all too easy after watching just the first couple episodes. The show debuted in July of 2013 and is rumored to debut it’s second season July 2014, so you do have some time to catch up, although I don’t think you’ll need more than a weekend.

Production of the second season of “Orange is the New Black “ is currently underway.

"Let Me Ride"! Suge Knight Pulled Over and Arrested Again

Cofounder of Death Row Records, Suge Knight, was arrested Wednesday and released.

Marion Knight, better known as Suge Knight, cofounder of Death Row Records and CEO and founder of Black Kapital Records, was arrested again! At around 12:30am Wednesday, September 11, 2013, Suge knight was pulled over by the LAPD for driving erratically. He was said to be straddling two lanes in a truck with no license plates in the Los Angeles area around Beverly Hills.

Thankfully Suge Knight did not have any drugs or alcohol in his system. Unfortunately, what he did have was an outstanding warrant for his arrest. The warrant was issued when Suge skipped a court appearance, which he had earned for driving on a suspended license.

Apparently Suge thought jail “Ain’t No Fun” and luckily had no problem posting his $20,000 bail, despite filing for bankruptcy back in 2006. Suge Knight was released from custody several hours later.

“Keep Ya Head Up”, Suge.

Reinventing a Classic: The Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch

When your pocket is too far and the death of the analog watch

The Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch is the latest in wearable technological devices. It debuted in Berlin on Wednesday at the IFA electronics show. Samsung is one of a couple other companies who are redefining the watch market subsequently bringing watches into the 21st century.  A watch is no longer simply a time-telling fashion accessory. Don’t people just look at their phones to check the time now anyway? The Galaxy Gear smartwatch acts as a medium to your Samsung Galaxy phone or phablet. Reportedly selling for a cool $299 and available in October, the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch features a 1.9 megapixel camera, a microphone for verbal notation, access to apps, email, texts and much more.

With the new Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch you don’t have to reach into your pocket! Gone are the days of searching through you purse or pockets to check your social media networks. Samsung has eliminated this grueling task. If this smartwatch trend catches on, while commuting or waiting in line you won’t see people glued to their phones tweeting, texting, and checking emails. That may be a slight exaggeration, however, with a simple glance down at one’s wrist all that information could be answered within a few seconds. What will people do with all their extra time?

I can picture the infomercial now “Are you sick and tired of having to dig in your pocket or purse searching for your smartphone? Do your skinny jeans prevent you from fast access to your followers on Twitter? Now, thanks to the Samsung Galaxy Gear Smartwatch, look no further than your wrist!” Fortunately for us, Samsung, being one of the leaders in the smartphone industry, is above making cheesy infomercials.

Regardless, the question still stands, is a smartwatch really a necessity? Or is it just the next trendy technological accessory that will be a mere memory a couple years down the line? Google invented Google glasses and Samsung answered with its Galaxy Gear smartwatch. Sony and Qualcomm also have products in the great smartwatch race. Many people are speculating that Apple will join the game and the ball is in their court. Are the rumors true, will the iWatch be Apple’s response?

The debut of the Samsung Galaxy Gear smartwatch poses many questions that only time will hold the answers to. Possibly the most important question of all, will the ability to tell time on an analog watch be a lost art?
